I'm thinking of to use spinners as my cache drive because they are cheaper. Of course I want speed is this possible with spinners. Is it possible to set 2 or 3 spinners in RAID 0?

Thanks ...Because I've done all according to the guide but when I browse /mnt/cache in the Unraid GUI, the only folders I see on the cache drive are my system and appdata folders (amounting for 61GB). Just feels unintuitive to unassign this drive in this state.

If you move docker off of cache pool (and everything else). Format cache pool, and move docker back, apparently that helps the issue. This stemmed from a bug on 6.9 and earlier. Not sure why the fixes in later versions couldn't correct the problem without moving data and formatting the drive though.

To make a direct replacement you'd need both old and new devices connected, which might not be an option with m.2 devices, you can still remove one device, convert pool to single, then add another device and reconvert to raid1, but before starting make sure your pool is redundant because of this bug, if you want post diags to confirm. If you've got an empty cache at the moment just take the old drives out, put the two new ones in and configure as raid 1, make sure all shares are set to use them as a cache pool and then change settings for any shares you want to be on the cache to "prefer" and invoke mover, then start VM/docker ...Dec 10, 2022 · I just don’t like keeping persistent data in it.
